About The Collection
Beginning of a second collection
Choosing a suitable candidate
After collecting games and collectibles from the Assassin's Creed franchise for many years, I had been looking into devoting myself into a second franchise. During this time there had been various candidates such as; Legend of Zelda, Metal Gear Solid and Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts was something that I really wanted to collect but with very little limited editions here in the west, it was not going to be a big collection anyways (Hence, my collection is still quite small with the KH franchise). The Yakuza franchise was something that always caught my eye for some reason (Most likely just due to Japanese Culture). It always made me interested, because in my mind the thought that it may potentially have a very strong narrative was something that I have been seeking since the end of the Desmond saga in AC. Even researching about the franchise, I see that it was not always popular in the west either. But I must say, by playing Kiwami 1 through PS Plus Sega sold me on the franchise.

Keep in mind that this collection that I'm building will be much smaller. Hopefully, with time I can attain more of the limited editions that have been released in Japan. Hence, this collection will predominantly need to be imported. But for now, I see myself enjoy collecting once again as opposed to thinking its a chore. (14/12/18)

As of now the collection is slowly starting to build with the addition of; Yakuza 0 (PS4), Yakuza Kiwami 2 (Steelbook edition) and Yakuza 6 The song of life after hours premium edition (Still contemplating as to weather or not this will actually be opened). In addition, Ryu ga gotoku Kenzan (Japanese imported) is expected to arrive at some point. (18/12/18)

Ryu ga gotoku Kenzan arrived right on time on the 19/12/18. In the past week was deciding to then collect 4 and 5. Have ordered both copies (both as Japanese imports once again). Upon waiting for them to arrive, due to my lack of Japanese language (still learning at this point), deciding weather I should buy digital copies of them on the PSN store as 4 ($24.99) and 5 is on special at $13.99. In addition, just finished Kiwami 2 (The storyline was great in my opinion with more character development of Kiryu and Kaoru), wish that Haruka had a bit more screen time.

Alright after a long and hard thought about when to purchase Yakuza Kiwami 1 I finally decided to do so as of today. Considering it had been boxing day, bought Yakuza Kiwami with 20% off at $45 AUD and still remains manufactured sealed which I'm quite happy about as I had been looking around and was ranging between $47 pre-owned at EB games to $69.99 at JB HI FI. So now it sits along with the other Yakuza games that I have collected thus far. Also got to admit, a lot of crazy people shopping on boxing day that need to chill out at some point cause came to a point where people are physically fighting over a parking spot.

Ryu Ga Gotoku 5 arrived in the postal mail today. At least my last name was not misspelled unlike another delivery that I received the day prior. Finally the collection is nearly coming to a close as I wait for 4 to arrive with regards to the main stream games such as Ishin on PS4 and the PSP spin off titles which will be considered in the near future. Collecting this franchise has been an enjoyable one so far showing me that the fact of collecting such titles still remain of interest to me outside of the AC collection that I had been building as of late.
